How to Love Yourself this Valentines Day
It’s that time of year! Pink and red flood the store isles, adorable plush animals sit there ready to buy, and the sweet feeling of love seems to be everywhere. Valentine’s Day is a day where we show all of our loved ones how much we value and love them, but what are you doing for yourself? No matter what your relationship status is, loving yourself should be a priority this February 14th and from here on out. Loving yourself doesn’t just mean feeling confident, but also treating yourself with love and trying to be your highest self! Here are some tips to help you get to where you want to be!
Always do your daily chores.
Daily chores such as doing the dishes, putting away clothing, and making your bed can be really dreadful when you’re tired. However, they are really important to do! The reason for this is because your living space and atmosphere affects your mind and mood. So if your living space is looking chaotic and messy, your mind will feel that too. A couple of minutes of chores can turn around your entire day. You deserve to have a clear mind!
Make time and space for your favorite hobbies.
Just like it’s important for kids to have playtime, it’s important for adults too! Let’s face it, adult life has a lot of stressors and we all deserve something that alleviates that stress. Whether you’re a yogi, an avid book reader, an undiscovered baker, or a bike rider, you should make time for that! Life is too short to not do the things that you enjoy and love. Even if it’s just a short amount of time per day, it’ll put a smile on your face which means it’s worth it.
Enjoy your meals.
In day-to-day life, it’s hard to find the energy and motivation to cook every day and prepare foods that you’d like to eat. We totally get that and are here to help! A great way to eat foods that make you feel good without having to make time to cook everyday, is to meal prep! Choose a day out of the week that is your least busy and cook for the upcoming days. This way you’ll just have one cleanup to do and be set with your favorite meals for the week. Giving your body foods that make it feel good can play a huge part in your mood and energy level throughout the day. Never forget to treat your cravings. We love Valentine’s chocolate too!
Declutter areas that are stressing you out.
We all have our irks that can just drive us crazy after a long day. Sometimes it’s a cluttered closet or an unorganized fridge. Whatever it is, it’s not worth getting thrown off because of it. Make just a little bit of time to declutter and reorganize a few areas of your space. Get rid of the things that are just taking up space and you no longer need, and find convenient spaces for those things that you do need. It’ll help you relax and enjoy your time at home to the fullest.
